Industrial Visit to the Power Plant to be Organized for Women under ‘Shakti Samvad’

Raigarh, March 10: On the occasion of International Women’s Day, Adani Foundation organized a special program for women in village Supa. Hundreds of women from the region participated enthusiastically in the event. The objective of the program was to honour the contributions of women and empower them socially and economically. The chief guest of the program was Hemlata Chauhan, President of Janpad Panchayat Pusaur. Lakshmi Patel, District Panchayat Member, was present as the guest of honour. In addition, five BDC members and Sarpanches from nearly ten Panchayats also participated in the program, encouraging the women.
More than 500 women from self-help groups supported by Adani Foundation were honoured for their contributions to community development, livelihood enhancement and social leadership. Along with this, Utthan Sahayaks who performed outstanding work under the Utthan Project were also honoured with appreciation certificates.

Villagers Showed Interest in the Product Exhibition
An exhibition of products prepared by self-help groups was also organized at the venue. It included mushroom cultivation products, terracotta items, badi-papad, turmeric and other spices, as well as garments prepared at the stitching training centre. Guests and villagers visiting the exhibition showed special interest in these products.

Launch of Adani Foundation’s ‘Shakti Samvad’ Initiative
On this occasion, Adani Foundation launched a new initiative called ‘Shakti Samvad.’ Under this initiative, women from self-help groups and rural women entrepreneurs will be taken on an industrial visit to the power plant so that they can understand the functioning of industries. It will also facilitate exchange of experiences related to CSR activities and livelihood initiatives among women from different villages, creating new opportunities for learning and leadership development.

Hard Work Will Lead to a New Identity: Hemlata
During the program, women presented cultural dance performances and shared their experiences. Chief Guest Hemlata Chauhan said that this day is an opportunity to honour the struggle and dedication of women. She added that every woman can build a new identity in society through her capability and hard work.
District Panchayat Member Lakshmi Patel said that Adani Foundation is continuously making efforts to make women self-reliant in the region, which is inspiring for society. Meera Das also extended her greetings to the women and shared information about various activities of the Foundation, assuring continued support in the future.

At the end of the program, the Safety Department of Adani Power shared important information related to household safety and explained measures to prevent common accidents at home. A large number of rural women, public representatives, members of self-help groups and CSR team members were present at the event.
